Laura McClintock

I’m a masters student in the MPhil in Multi-Disciplinary Gender Studies one of the least stereotypical Aussies you’ll ever meet! I completed my undergrad in Anthropology and Archaeology and my research areas are digital humanities and intersectional feminist studies. I am so excited to be able to contribute as much as I can in the short year that I will be here at Lucy Cav. I have so many ideas that I know will be made so much easier by the vibe & incredible diversity we have as a college. I hope to bring my own perspective to the SU, as well as ensuring I represent the opinions of women and LGBTQ+ identifying students.

It is so important that Lucians are represented well by their SU candidates. I hope to contribute my own experience as a queer woman with mental illnesses, as a student in gender studies, & as a woman who is passionate about privileging minority voices. I promise to always provide relatable queer memes, and to be open to listening to all voices within our LGBTQ+ community.

I live at The Gables, a beautiful house, full of lovely post-grads, and I aim to be accessible and approachable to all Lucians. I am committed to representing LGBTQ+ Lucians to the best of my ability. I aim to never speak over the voices of others, & take all suggestions & criticism on board! I am so passionate about raising LGBTQ+ issues at Lucy, and celebrating our achievements!
