Matured Students' Society

This society is aimed at those women who have returned to education having previously been permanently employed or had a career break to have children.  Often we are juggling family or other commitments with our studies, which can be challenging.  Also, returning to university after a break, or perhaps even for the first time later in life, can be a bit daunting. This society offers you the opportunity to meet others in a similar situation and to share experiences – you are not alone!

As part of the University’s Matured Students’ Society we have several social events a year:

  1. Wine and cheese, or mince pies and mulled wine evenings. Social events to meet matured students from other colleges.
  2. Punting. An opportunity to view the Trinity May Ball fireworks and light show from the river Cam.
  3. Research conference. An afternoon devoted to listening to other’s research (from undergraduate to doctoral) as well as an opportunity to network, share experiences and socialise.
  4. Formal hall swap. We would like to develop this further and welcome invitations from matured students at other colleges.

Suggestions of other informal events (wine tasting? monthly coffee and cake at Fitzbillies?) are always welcome!
