College rugby is a super fun way to give rugby a go, on a more casual basis than the university wide teams. Being part of a rugby team is great fun, brilliant fitness and a fab way to meet new people!
Hills Colleges Rugby Team is made up of several colleges training together. Throughout Michaelmas and Lent, we train once a week and build up from the basics to intercollegiate matches. It's fun for any level of player: beginners can learn new skills, and experienced players can have a go at developing in new positions. Rugby is a great sport for fitness and team spirit, and there's always potential for socials!
We run “Development days” in Michaelmas term where you come along to Grange Road rugby ground and our coaches go through simple handling skills, rules and eventually tackling, in a controlled and supportive atmosphere- no experience necessary!
